Dr Maini will illustrate some common pitfalls seen in cases treated with STO style orthodontics.

Understand why case mentorship is important for limited experienced dentists and why one must be wary of 3rd party remote treatment planning.

Dr Maini will highlight why evidence based dentistry is important when considering procedures that claim to hasten orthodontic treatments.

Aims and Objectives:

  • Understand The Medico legal issues surrounding GDP orthodontics.
  • Learn about the importance of undertaking appropriate orthodontic records for all orthodontics cases.
  • Anterior alignment orthodontics vs STO what’s the difference?
  • What is digital treatment planning and why is arch space analysis important in non extraction orthodontic cases?
  • Learn why rigid post treatment retention protocols are critical.

Background to Lecturer:

Dr Anoop Maini is a private general dentist who has been offering limited outcome cosmetic orthodontics to his patients for over 12 years in London’s West End. He has trained over a 1000 dentists internationally on this approach to orthodontics. He is the founding past president of the European society of aesthetic orthodontics and the past president of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is currently a part of the teaching faculty for The IAS Orthodontic Training Academy, which offers a training pathway for GDP’s to learn simple to comprehensive orthodontics. He also currently sits on the editorial board for the journal Orthodontic Practice

    Background To Lecturer:

    Dr Mukesh Soni qualified from Manchester University in 1989. 22 years later he gained a Masters in Restorative & Aesthetic Dentistry at the same great institution. Soni has run several practices in the last 30 odd years and he now owns a private practice in Twickenham, Middlesex. Predominantly a general practitioner, Dr Soni concentrates 60% of his clinical time to dental implants and their restoration. He runs a course called Practical Implantology introducing dentists to safe, predictable and reproducible dental implant skill sets. He also mentors in dental implants and currently has 11 mentees on his books. Dr Soni is addicted to social media predominantly Facebook. However, on a serious note Dr Soni is passionate in sharing his successes and failures. Social media has allowed him to gain a loyal following, who follow many of his cases online all over the world. This has tremendously helped develop his teaching, lecturing and mentoring. It has created world-wide connections which would never have been available to him in the past.
